The possibility to use recycled materials will always be assessed in the project and building design of public street and park areas. Wherever possible, different materials and building elements will be recycled at the city’s demolition and construction sites.
The Kolmenkulma soil reception area will be developed into a circular economy centre for the recycling of aggregates. In Rusko, similar activities will be launched on a small scale. Effort will be made to procure the stone material for creating more land in the Viinikanlahti bay from the under-ground parking projects in the city centre to minimise transfer distance and storage.
