Residents and communities want to work for the benefit of nature, especially in their own neighborhoods, and wish for opportunities to influence urban planning, for example, in order to safeguard biodiversity (City of Tampere 2025b, 2025c). Ways of participation and independent activities of residents and communities are developed and also supported financially.
Nature management projects involve cooperation with associations and organizations. Cooperation can be used to target and increase the prevention of invasive alien species at important natural sites and to increase awareness of invasive alien species.
