In order to preserve natural values, it is necessary to carry out active nature management measures in some habitats or species occurrences. These include especially open environments, such as traditional biotopes and light slopes of ridges, where overgrowth weakens natural values, as well as herb-rich forests, where the increasing share of spruce trees in the tree stand may begin to harm species. In order for valuable habitat types, such as ridges, scorching slopes, herb-rich forests, mires, and wetlands, to be managed correctly and appropriately and taking into account their special values, separate surveys must be carried out as a basis for management planning. For example, the restoration needs of peatlands were investigated in 2025.
